Hua Hin Fishing Pier is a popular recreational spot and a viewpoint for watching an ocean sunrise or taking in panoramas of Hua Hin town. It remains the centre of Hua Hin’s fishing trade. In the evening, locals often come here for a spot of recreational fishing. 

Hua Hin railway station is one of the oldest in Thailand and its main feature is The Royal Waiting Room that used to welcome King and his court when they were visiting the town.

Originally, it was situated at Sanamchan Palace in Nakom Pathom and was known as Plub Pla Sanamchan. Eventually, the room was tranported to Hua Hin.

It is designed in the same style as Maruekkhathayawan Palace and is an attraction not to be missed if you are staying in Hua Hin.

Standing 163 metres high, Khao Hin Lek Fai (‘Flintstone Hill’) rises tall behind Hua Hin’s picturesque railway station. And with its convenient location close to central Hua Hin, the hilltop viewpoint offers visitors the chance to enjoy panoramic views of the royal resort city and its coastline.

The viewpoint at Khao Hin Lek Fai is a popular location for Hua Hin locals. With a park, landscaped gardens and coffee shop at the top of the hill it makes for a pleasant place to spend an hour or two.

Well-known for its spectacular sunrises, Hua Hin’s main beach is a 4km white, sandy strip that fringe the Gulf of Thailand, and stretches from the town centre to Khao Takiap. As a result it is never over-crowded, and lots of family-friendly activities are on offer – the likes of pony rides, banana boat rides, or rent deckchairs and umbrellas for a few lazy hours of sun-worshipping in between testing the water with your big toe. The town’s name – meaning ‘stone head’ –  is derived from the rock formations that can be seen towards the end of the main beach. Other than that it is a sandy beach with a sandy sea bed, making it ideal for swimming.

On top of Khao Takiab hill, also known as monkey mountain or Chopstick hill is Wat Khao Takiab temple, which is also known as the monkey temple, because of the many monkeys that live there.

            Wat Khao Takiab is a Buddhist temple complex on “Chopsticks Hill” (Khao Takiab) south of Hua Hin Town center. One of the most recognizable temples in Hua Hin, it straddles a 272-meter (890 feet) tall hill that juts out into the Gulf of Thailand and is visible from beaches to the north and south.

Hua Hin’s laid-back ambience and way of attracting the somewhat more sophisticated traveller makes for a relaxing coastal holiday, without the pumping nightclubs and bucket drinks. However, if you’re looking for somewhere to cut your teeth on your way down south to Koh Samui or Phuket, the maze of narrow streets near Dechanuchit Road and Soi Bintabaht overflow with cheap drinks, massage parlors and live music.

Chatchai Market is one of the famous markets known by both Thai and foreign tourists. The market is light and airy and was considered to be the most sanitary market in Thailand at that time. The market currently sells souvenirs as well as fresh and dried food. Moreover, the south entrance (Soi 72) which is a small street full of shops with delicious foods on both sideways, such as popular Thai foods, Thai desserts, and noodles. You can easily choose what to buy from there.

            There is also a selection of more exotic food that is popular among both Thai and foreign tourists, for example, dried squid, sun-dried squid egg, crispy squid, dried fish, dried shrimp, and herbs.
